This is a site/blog/online exhibition space devoted to what has now been officially ratified as “the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.” It was started by two people who have seen many friends and acquaintances lose jobs in recent months; one of us is, in fact, among the ranks of the newly jobless.
Partly inspired by the oral histories collected by the Federal Writer’s Project in the old days of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), partly an effort to harness the Webbiness of the Web for a good purpose, and partly an oxymoronic experiment in fun commiseration, The Breadline is now with you.
